Videos from Read and Shout!

April 16, 2011

We had a wonderful time playing at the Read and Shout mini-festival at the beautiful West Norwood Library last month. We saw loads of great bands, heard some very thought-provoking speeches and we came away feeling really inspired by the whole day. The event was arranged to help raise awareness of the cuts facing libraries, and was part of the national Save Our Libraries campaign. You can read more about the campaign on the Voices for the Library homepage.

We’d like to say thanks to organiser Matt Stead for inviting us, and also thanks to Darren Hayman, Andy and Emma from Pocketbooks and Pete from The Sweet Nothings for performing with us! We would like to say an extra special “thank you” to Andy who not only performed the wonderful Pocketbooks song “End of the Pier” with us, but who also wrote the orchestration for Darren and Emma/Pete’s appearances.

Here’s us playing “Out of My League” with Darren Hayman:

and here’s a clip of our cover of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s Young Adult Friction with special guest appearances from Pete from The Sweet Nothings and Emma from Pocketbooks:
