Full steam ahead for Indietracks!
We are very excited to say we’ll be playing at the fifth annual Indietracks Festival. The festival takes place on a steam railway in Derbyshire on the weekend of 29-31 July 2011. Bands playing include Edwyn Collins, The Hidden Cameras, Jeffrey Lewis, Jonny (Norman Blake and Euros Childs), Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, Math and Physics Club and loads, loads more!
We’ll be playing at 7.20pm on the Church Stage on the Sunday, and we have got some very special guest appearances lined up, which we’ll be announcing in the days leading upto Indietracks.
However, we can already announce that we will be playing a couple of songs with the frankly brilliant Haiku Salut, a Derbyshire-based instrumental trio who use accordions, organs, ukeleles, glockenspiels, pianos and loop pedals to create their melodies. They’ve been described by Sweeping the Nation as “left-bank baroque meets retro-futurist”, and their music takes the listener on beautiful and surreal adventures through imaginative musical landscapes. We’re playing with them at 4.20pm on the Church Stage on Sunday and we’re completely over-excited about it already!
Tickets are available from www.indietracks.co.uk/tickets.html and you can also download the fantastic Indietracks 2011 compilation from http://makedoandmendrecords.bandcamp.com/ – don’t forget to make a donation to the Midland Railway!
