London gig on January 26!

January 10, 2012

We’re super excited to announce that we’ll be playing at one of our favourite nights, How Does It Feel to Be Loved?, on January 26 at the Buffalo Bar in London. Entitled An Evening with A Little Orchestra, the evening is a chance for us to collaborate with some of our favourite indiepop singers and bands.

As part of our set, we will be performing some very special collaborations with Simon from The Loves and Andy from Pocketbooks, and we will also be performing songs with Matt and Sharon from A Fine Day for Sailing as part of their new Banana and Louie project. A little Orchestra have spent the past few weeks in the recording studio working on this exciting new project – and you can read more at http://bananaandlouie.wordpress.com/

Headlining the evening will be the superb Madrigals, who make music influenced by traditional English folk music but sounds more like Electrelene and Sufjan Stevens. Also playing will be indiepop legend Shirley Lee of Spearmint and the fantastic Haiku Salut – and A Little Orcehstra will also be performing songs with both of these bands as well – we can’t wait!

Tickets cost just £4 in advance, or £5 on the door, and can be bought at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/151249. There is also a Facebook event page.

To give you an idea of the sort of thing we’ll be up to, here’s a video of us with playing with Shirley Lee previously…..

and with Haiku Salut at Indietracks!
