Hello! We’re a small, London-based pop orchestra led by Monster Bobby of The Pipettes. We formed in February 2010 and have eleven members. We play a variety of instruments including violin, viola, bassoon, clarinet and flute.

Our name was originally taken from a line in James M. Cain’s classic hard boiled novel, Serenade, although we are, quite simply, a little orchestra.

We play both modern, minimalist classical pieces and original compositions, and we also enjoy accompanying bands. Since we formed in 2010, we have collaborated with a range of indiepop artists, including Darren Hayman, The Pipettes, Elizabeth from Allo Darlin’, Pocketbooks, Shirley Lee of Spearmint and The Loves.

Our debut album, Clocks, was released on 10 June 2013 on Vollwert Records on CD and as downloads. It includes collaborations with Model Village, Darren Hayman, Gordon McIntyre, Apple Eyes, Simon Love, Haiku Salut, Emma Winston and Lisa Bouvier.

The album was preceded by an EP, Josefina, on Elefant Records. The EP is available as downloads or on limited edition chocolate-coloured 7″ vinyl.

Do contact us at if you’re interested in joining, or if you would like us to come and play for/with you!
